Two Point Five!

I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true.  I know that Thomas S. Monson is our living prophet, and that he speaks the word of God.  I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that he restored the gospel.  I know that the scriptures are true, and that by truely studying them we can come closer to our Savior and Heavenly Father, and come to a better understanding of the gospel.  I know that families can be together forever, and I know that my family will be.  I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know who I am.  I know that Christ always knows what I am going through and how I feel, and that because of this he always knows how to help.  I know that Heavenly Father loves me and mores know about me than I know about myself.  I know that He has plan for me.  I know that he loves me.  I know that Christ was the perfect example, and that by following in his footsteps I will be able to live with Him and Heavenly Father again.  I know that the Holy Ghost is a gift from God, to help guide and comfort me.  I know that by living righteously, the Holy Ghost can be my constant compainion.  I know that I am a daughter of God.

In two and a half years, I have the priviledge of serving an LDS mission.  In two and a half years, I will be leaving my family behind for eighteen months, so other families can be together forever. I love the gospel, and know that it is true.  The gospel brings me peace and joy throughout my life, and I cannot wait to share it with others, so they can feel that same peace and joy.

We Can Pray for Anything

In sunday school today we had the priviledge of reading in 3 Nephi chapters 1 through 3.  Samuel the Lamanite stood on top of the wall and prophesied that Christ would be born.  He prophesied that the Savior would be born within a five year time frame, and he told the people of signs that they would see to let them know that Christ was going to be born.  The sign was that there would be no darkness in the night.  3 Nehpi 1-3 talks about that five year time period, and what was going on between the believers and the unbelievers  Now at this time, those who did not believe,  had decided that they were going to give a set date that the sign had to come to pass by, and if it didn't, all those who did believe Samuel's words, would be put to death.  Hearing this, Nephi went and prayed unto our Heavenly Father.  In 3 Nehpi 1: 13-14 is how Christ answers Nehpi's prayer, it reads;
"13  Lift up your head and be of good cheer; for behold, the time is at hand, and on this       night shall the sign be given, and on the morrow come I into the world, to show unto the world that I will fulfil all that which I have caused to be spoken by the mouth of my holy prophets.
14  Behold, I come unto my own, to fulfil all things which I have made known unto the children of men from the foundation of the world, and to do the will, both of the Father and of the Son--of the Father because of me, and of the Son because of my flesh. And behold, the time is at hand, and this night shall the sign be given."

After we read those scriptures, my sunday school teacher asked us if the Savior came into the world the day and time he did because of Nephi's prayer, or if it was just because Nephi and those who believed had such great faith.  I thought about that for a minute, to which I said that Nephi wouldn't have gone and prayed if he didn't have faith to begin with.  My sunday school teacher then asked if I then believed that it was because of Nephi's prayer.  I said no, because the Lord has a plan for everything.  We then talked about how the day the Savior came into the world was set before Nephi's prayer.  We were then asked the question, "Then why was this verse put in the scriptures? What is this verse trying to teach us?"
What I got out of these verses is that we can ask the Lord for anything, whether big or small.

I know that I can pray to my Heavenly Father any time, in any place, and for any reason.  I know that he will always listen, and that he will always provide me with an answer to each and everyone of my prayers.  I know that he knows who I am and what I am going through.  He knows what I need and when I need it, so I will have faith in what he has in store for me.

Homecoming Game!

At 6:00 pm friday night, I drove to the High School to have some fun at the tailgate party.  The tailgate was right before the Homecoming football game.  At the tailgate, I had a cookie, got handprints on my face and arms, ribbon in my hair, and just enjoyed spending time with friends.

After the tailgate, we went to the back of the school and found a spot on the bleachers in the student section.  We played Viewmont, and guess what? We won!! 45 to 6, and Viewmont didn't even get their first and last touchdown until the fourth quarter.  Now, for those of you who don't know, Lehi is known for losing football.  Last year was the first time in eight years that we won, so yes, this was outstanding!

Spring Break

Family photo at Zions.

For spring break this year, instead of going somewhere in the cold mountains, we went to St. George. It was much nicer weather there. We stayed in a hotel with a pool and hot tub. Which we gladly took advantage of everyday, except for Wednesday because it rained.

On Tuesday we went to the dinosaur museum there. We went to see Brigham Young's winter home, and visiting the St. George temple. That night Braden, Zakk, and I went to see Hunger Games, second time for me, with Zakk's family. It was still marvelous the second time.

Then on Wednesday, we went to Zions, and rode around on a shuttle bus. We also walked along a trail for about 3/4 of a mile.

On Thursday we went to a national park that had a dormant volcano, and saw lots of volcanic rock.

We then packed up and came home Friday.

I Can What?

I can drive!  Yes, that is right, I got my license last Friday, April 6th!!! No biggie.  I can just go wherever I went now, as long as I tell my parents where I am going. Oh, one other thing, I have a car! Even better! What a great way to start out Spring Break!

My 16th Birthday Party

I celebrated my 16th birthday party on Friday, March 16th, becuase my actual birthday, March 19, was on a Monday.  I invited Friends over and we went to Classic Skating.  We then came back to my house to do presents, and Just Dance 3 on the Kinect.  I had a blast! I have such wonderful friends!

I'm Ruined

According to Hope. We were just sitting there at the island, and Hope found stickers. At the beginning she just handed me one, and I put it on my hand, I then got another one and put it on my other hand.  About a minute later Hope put one on my face, and then another, and another, and another, until the whole sticker sheet was empty.  Half way through though, she starts giggling as she is in the process of putting another one on and says' "You're ruined."  Personally, I think a face covered in smiley face stickers is the best! I don't know what she was thinking. I love my sister! <3

Girl Stuff

Being sleep deprived from choir tour, just wasn't enough, I went and had a late night with my friend Kayli Saturday night until around 11:30.  It was really fun! We went to Smith's and got Cookie Dough ice cream, and a packet of face mud.  So when we got back we ate our ice cream, because sugar is such a great thing to have at night.  We then went to the bathroom and gave ourselves facials.  After which, we painted our nails. I painted mine hot pink with sparkles! I had a blast!

Choir Tour!

For choir tour this year we were able to go to many different colleges, from Snow, all the way to down to a college in St. George.  We left at 8:15 Thursday ( February 23rd) morning, and got back Friday ( February 24th) night around 11:00 p.m.  It was a really great learning experience, and I learned new things from every different professor that we talked to.  However, I was so glad to be back home and sleep in Saturday morning.

Dear Mother Nature,

Thanks for the snow! Oh wait, it's February.  I would appreciate it if you got your seasons right.  This snow is past the due date and we will no longer be accepting it anymore, so please don't send it our way.  Next year, do mind sending it at the right time. Thanks a bunch!

                                         Love,
                                             Paige

P.S.  There better not be snow on my 16th birthday, or you are FIRED!!!

Talking.....Good or Bad?

Both.  Talking when you want to is definitely a good thing, but talking because a member of the bishopric calls ands asks you to talk in sacrament meeting is bad.  I am not a good public speaker, and get those little butterflies in my stomach every time that I have to.   However, prayer helps, a lot.  As I was sitting up on the stand I said a quick prayer asking my Heavenly Father to calm my nerves and help the message in my talk to get through, and asked that it wouldn't be as bad as I was expecting it to be.  When the time came for me to give my talk, I was the first speaker by the way, I still had butterflies, but once I got up to the pulpit, they were gone.  I had no butterflies what-so-ever, and suddenly standing up there and speaking was not so bad.  My talk must have went great because people kept complimenting me on it, and my once Young Women's president, who is now in the stake Young Women's, told me that I had so much confidence up there.  To which my reply was, ummmm, no I didn't.  She then told me that I looked and sounded like I did.  Wow, I may not have had the nerves I had before, but I most certainly was not confident.  Then when we were home my dad told me that a couple in our ward told him that they were very impressed with my talk.  So, long story short, I guess giving a talk is not that bad, however, I will not just volunteer to give one.

Late Night at the Church

So we have the best bishop ever!  We went to a our Lehi basketball game against Lone Peak, which we lost, 58 to 38, but who cares right?  After, Kayli, Zakk, Jordan, Braden, and I were able to go to the church at 9:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. to play some basketball and hang out!  We got there and there were yellow and blue balloons, however, most of them were on the ceiling because they had floated up, but there were two on the ground, so Kayli and I had to take pictures with them!

We also played some attempted basketball, considering we are not all that good at any sport, and because of this, when we played PIG with the guys, we were the first ones out.

We also just enjoyed taking pictures of ourselves, and our eyes.......!
